Palm Springs 111 Miles East from Los Angeles, the first oasis in the desert. Driving into town you will be welcomed by all the wonderfull palm trees, the visitor center and the areal tramway. This town has the most interesting old and new architecture. Although not so much known for fancy shopping, the town is known for it's tranquility and resort living. Thursday evening "Village Fest" is one of the best attractions! You can also check out some great restaurants on the downtown strip.
Cathedral City is the second town. Downtown has some great buildings and is expanding slowly but surely. Quite different than Palm Springs, this town is more focused on wonderful neighborhoods such as Panorama, Rio Vista the name a few. Don't forget to check out the Cove area, which is getting more and more desirable with its new roads and sewer.
Rancho Mirage is a great destination for vacationers and golfers. The River complex, that was finished a few years ago, is a great addition and attracts many people to it's restaurants movie theatre and shopping.The Ritz Carlton up on the mountain looks out over the entire valley. It will reopen soon after a most incredible renovation.
Palm Desert has it all... from shopping at El Paseo or at the Mall, to wonderfull dining and playing golf at one of the luxury golf courses in one of the Country Clubs. You can either relax at your desert hideway, or go visit the McCallum theatre with its wonderful performances. A visit to the Living Zoo and Gardens is certainly worth your time!
Indian Wells luxury and class!! Fantastic Spa,Tennis and Golf resorts! One of the most interesting resorts is the Private Resort Hotel founded by Hollywood legends Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in 1957. Indian Wells is also home for the most famous Tennis Garden, also used for some great open air concerts!
La Quinta up and comming in the North part, expanding shopping areas and malls. Going South you can find all the resorts amongst others the PGA West Country Clubs.
The La Quinta Cove is a unique area with its many adorable homes, of which many built in the Adobe South West Style, with front loaded pools. Top of the cove is a great start for going on one of those hikes through the desert!
Indio better known here as the "City Of Festivals". It is the oldest town here in the valley.
Rapidly growing, businesses close to the I10 freeway and more of the desert's luxurious resorts and country clubs in the South. You can find a waterski lake all the way North and the Polo grounds South.
Desert Hot Springs One of the fastest growing communities in the Valley. Great views of the valley and its windmills, thousands of acres of gorgeous mountain preserves. Lots of spas because of the abundant hot springs that bubble and percolate to the surface out of the world's finest natural hot mineral water aquafirs. Mission Lakes is a wonderful area with great golf perks!
